First, a little piece of photography from a recent trip to Romania - I love "popping" photos and it's an addictive hobby!
Speaking of hobbies. With M.E it is imperative to come up with sedentary activities which are not stressful and do not solely consist of drinking tea. "How do you do that?" cry the English tea-drinkers amongst you.
Creative options so far have included:
- learning to knit (read: one very happy grandma)
- getting tattooed (sorry mum)
- beginning a blog (early days)
- reading a novel (just finished Jessie Burton's "The Miniaturist". Fascinating and devastating.)
- watching TV (yes, I have defected to channel 4 for the Bake Off. Shocking.)
- cat-sitting for humans on holiday (there is one "helping" me to type as we sgrnwuirp. speak. as we speak.)
- photography & editing
- plotting future adventures to sunnier climes. More on that to follow...
Life is beautiful; there are bright days in early autumn where the trees' colours start to sing, and the rain-soaked streets steam gently. They can be enjoyed even when you are trapped inside, looking out. There is always hope. Rumi said "there are many suns after darkness" and I believe he is right.
Jessie Burton:
"She could be alone in the world were it not for the noise of the trapped starling. It is time to leave, but for a moment the woman holds the door open for the bird. Sensing her effort, instead it flaps away behind the pulpit.
She closes away the church's cool interior, turning to face the sun, heading from the ringed canals towards the sea. Starling, she thinks, if you believe that building is the safer spot, then I am not the one to set you free."

Not exactly camera-shy this one, is she?
