La belle France

(a photo of the château de Nemours- not mine, but i have one very similar on my camara)

At the moment I'm in France - a flying visit for a catch up with friends and colleagues. It feels like Ive never been away, and aside from the first evening back here, my french surprised me- I havent forgotten it! hurray!

Saturday I went to the local market and ate a freshly baked almond croissant, mmm they really do eat well in France. then i sunbathed in the back garden - making the most of those last summery afternoons! The evening was dinner at a friend of a friends house. they gave me the recipe afterwards because it was just so good :) (there you go R&L, another recipe to add to our soup n pasta sauce ;))

Sunday was church, which was wonderful to go back to, and more eating and chatting. it would appear the Nemours church youth group fancy the idea of visting a small city named durham in the near future. I said not all at once...

Yesterday saw 'les annees folles', a village fête, in the town centre. all around the chateau (see above), there were food stands, arts, crafts and dancing, alongside photos of nemours dating back to the early 1900's... and an old grand piano.

tomorrow im heading to Tours to visit some friends, then it's back to England in order to pack all those books, dictionaries and odd socks into the car and head up to Coun'y Duhrum.

trotamundos, no cierto?
