Apologies for not keeping up with my blog.
It's officially 2010, I did that anitclimactic count-down into yet another moment in the life of the universe. But that's not to say it didn't make me reflect on the past year, think about the year ahead...
The past year was, as always, an emotional and intellectual rollercoaster. I met so many fascinating people, both on my travels and at uni. I (re)learnt the importance of home, of leaving home and finding my own two feet. I felt the most incredible freedom, standing on mountain-tops, hopping on buses without knowing where I'd get off or who or what I'd find on arrival. I made friends and became family in far-flung countries. It's been an amazing time and I know that this year is full of other opportunities. I imagine, it being final year of uni, that I'll feel stretched, stressed and exhausted. I imagine I'll never have so many opportunities in one place after this year either. So I'm taking the challenge head-on.
Back to Durham tomorrow, which means 2 things. 1- a train journey with a good book (but which one?! I have half of Durham library with me!) 2- back to our little terraced house where I'll have to battle with the kitchen and the shopping all over again (Ive enjoyed being doted upon by parents!)
Happy New Year
