Geordie (perhaps spelt Jodi?) from Catalonia has come to visit my host family. His wife stayed here last year so he is paying a visit to bring gifts for the family and her schools.
After washing my clothes, I turn to hear host father say "Ok. lets go.' Are we going for a walk? Are we going far?
"No just 1, 2 hour".
So suddenly we're on a walk with no time to prepare; I'm in wet socks from my washing fiasco (and immensely grateful for my bamboo socks from Christmas which are comfy even when wet-thanks mum!).
Whilst on the walk with Jodi and our host, Jodi asks "Are there any monkeys here?"
"Yes," the father replies, "2 types. Be careful. There is also tiger."
"Tiger? You are joking of course?"
"No."
"Oh. Here? Where we are walking? How big?"
Father motions to waist height.
"It can eat dog, goat..."
"Small people?" (I grin incredulously).
"Yes small people also."
"!"
